Re: Tonight??

Duh, senior moment. Selenicereus, of course, named for the moon, not steno... which means thin.

What does he know?
Everything!

What I meant was it's not spotty or stripey, and it's not the brightest of colours.

It's not even the colour of fresh meat!

Mike certainly has some more eye catching stapeliads than this one.

You need a pooter!

Typically used for collecting insects, but pretty useful for seeds too.

I'd say that's a pretty accurate rendition of the colour, and tricky to achieve - well done!

What did you do?

And mine is different again. This is an old Pic. The plant is now about 20cm tall.

Wow, so many lovely plants.

You could be forgiven for thinking Sylvia is a whizz with Photoshop - they hardly look believable...

Re: Orbea taitica

Quite small for an Orbea, and not like Orbea variegata and co - but more like Orbea gilbertii. Strange they are both in the same genus.

Re: Huernia rubra FN310

Yet another "bloody" specimen...

I reckon someone could do a PhD on exactly what kind of dead animal each stapeliad flower is mimicking.
