Catching flies has to be as difficult as swatting them... :shock: I think you can place some rotting meat under a big screen, and lower the screen when you think you have gathered enough flies? I don't mind them walking around at all. But if they are being too enthusiastic with carrying soil around (specifically, throwing it out the pot and undermining my plant) I am a bit more bottered. Then I prefer to gently repot the plant and let the ants play outside and look for a new place to dig t...

I just recently discovered that in three larger Ferocactus plants that I haven't repotted a long time ago, there is an ants nest. I assume the sugary sap from the Ferocactus is partly to blame attracting them. Now, I haven't had much experience with ant problems. And once I did, a (small) plant was ...

When you cut it off, just let it dry for a few days and then stick it into some soil. Roots will probably grow on it in a matter of a few weeks, as did my Euphorbia obesa cuttings.
