Aloe haworthioides var aurantiaca
Hi all, My plant of a Aloe haworthioides is currently putting on a nice flower display, but a new addition from this year of a supposed var aurantiaca is not. I know the formal descriptions of both varieties, and the fact that they differ only by the flower colour, but I was wondering if anybody cou...

Re: Othonna carnosa problems
That is interesting to hear about seeds taking long time to germinate. I think they must be going into dormancy after a short period - perhaps like mammillaria theresae, which was recently discussed on the Forum. Over the last 2 months I have managed to successfully cross-polinate some of my othonna...

Re: Dioscorea elephantipes - when to flower?
They are pretty consistent. Might be a number of reasons, like all coming from one mother plant- something I am unable to confirm, or the fact that they are growing in one larger tray.

Re: Dioscorea elephantipes - when to flower?
Still teenagers then, just repot n feed regularly. Are they growing well ?. I think mine may need a sunnier position as they are at the back of the greenhouse. Tony Morris who produces the seed for the BCSS has his on the floor but climbing up sticks, probably easier to get to the flowers this way,...

Re: Dioscorea elephantipes - when to flower?
How many years old are they and whats the size of them, mine are a good size & age ( from an older branch member) but don't even flower every year or at the same time . Plants are roughly 7-8 cm in diameter and coming to 6 year now. I was hoping that it might be enough for them to start floweri...

Re: EU Plant Passport Scheme
Early last year (in time for the planned South East Cactus Mart in Swalecliffe) I have officially registered with APHA as plants seller. It was for free. I made enquiries at the same about plants passport and even had a telephone chat with my local inspector and I was told that I would be subject to...

Dioscorea elephantipes - when to flower?
Hi all, I have a decent sized number of plants raised from seed. They are few years old and I would have hoped that they are getting to the flowering size. I was wondering what is your experience of them flowering here in the UK. Which months they are likely to come into bud and flower? Many thanks ...

Re: December Cactus world is here
I think my CactusWorld (and probably my MSG bulletin) will not be delivered as a revenge by British customs from confiscated British sandwiches by Dutch customs: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-55622331. Hi Aiko, The latest seed list has now been published on the main Society page. You can at...

Hi Mike,Herts Mike wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 2:01 pm Two forms of Aloe variegata, Aloe chortolirioides just received.
Where did you get Aloe chortolirioides from? I am after this and other grass aloe species.
And which forms of a. variegata? I have 4 different localities by now, so I would be interested to know.
Best,
Maciej
