Aloe plicatilis

I thought these had to be quite large to flower but 2’ 6” seems to be enough.

Label lost under the plant. Slightly odd scent reminiscent of vanilla.

As you note they do attack the new pads which Mars the overall appearance.

So bone dry, cold winter rest and bingo....

To be honest I wasn’t expecting it to survive -5 but it did and then it flowered. Quite pretty really for a weed.
