L. pseudotruncatella, labelled as var elisabethiae but not especially distinctive. pseudotruncatella-0713.jpg Subspecies volkii volkii-0713.jpg And a L. gracilidelineata already, even if it is var waldroniae ...

That’s beautiful, Ian! My two plants don’t appear to even be in bud this year, no idea why, they have never failed to flower in previous years.
Very strange. Every single one of mine had flowers this weekend. This is my favourite: not the biggest, but the fluffiest.

Very nice its a big flower, if you pop the plant in the post then I will give it a try
Perhaps I should just send a flower? Less work for you to look after it afterwards

Copiapoa roots

Haven't had a good root picture for a while. Here are some from different forms of Copiapoa humilis.

Re: Mammillaria albicans

These Baja species often have long orange fruits, like M. boolii.

Short red ones on the core Mammillaria species, like M. columbiana.

Sometimes buried in the stem. I don't have any good photos of that!

A photographic experiment

I tried to take a photo of Mammillaria guelzowiana today. Without blowing out the red! I'm reasonably pleased, but I suspect others can do better.

Re: Cleistogamous

Sometimes even Avonia grisea decides to party. These are chasmogamous flowers. Must be something in the air because all three plants opened some flowers on the same day.
