Notocactus warasii x 2??

I have both these plants as Notocactus warasii although there are small differences in the number of ribs and spination. They have both just come into flower and there are some differences. Colouration is the same but the petals of one are quite rounded while the other has shaggy petals. Does anyone...

Looks a nice specimen. Possibly one of the spinosissima group but they are usually free flowering.

I agree with Aiko, stainesii is the most likely for the Ferocactus. Not sure about the other one though.

I assume tomato fertiliser wouldn't work Actually tomato fertiliser will work quite well, Ava, as it has a relatively high level of potassium & low nitrogen which is what you need for cacti & succulents (especially cacti). What might be missing is trace elements. One of the most reliable of...
