Re: Agave parryi and varaints

My lord Tina, that is a gutsy thing to do. I had to take a double look
But it it comes off it will be fascinating and we know who to come to for offshoots

It was/is a beautiful looking blue and has convinced me to look for one.

Re: Agave parryi and varaints

I'm also in the bluer the better camp? Appreciated your views Paul, as you say it's a minefield of names and not helped by varying conditions of where it was grown. Our climate is very testing, which is why I've built a shelter over my dry bed. Cold but dry. I have an eye on the Huntingdon clone whe...

Agave parryi and varaints

I'd be very interested to learn more about Agave Parryi and its variations. Myself I have just a juvenile Truncata and I hope a HK 1684 :???: , plus Parryi var Parryi . All juvenile, so at this point I can't do a side by side analysis. One day! So I wondered about your growing experiences, your favo...

Re: Agave Montana Blue Ocean

Thanks Paul, I knew you'd come through  What attracted me was the blue-ish colouring, plus it has great form too. I like it alot, so much so I've taken a punt  Well its only a pup. Now we're talking Agaves, what's your opinions on my other favourite Agave, the Ovatifolia and its variants...

Agave Montana Blue Ocean

As we now know Montana's are very worthy and well suited to growing in our climate. I have two doing very well So naturally when I saw a variant for sale, my interest was piqued. However, with the current trend to invent names to sell plants does anyone have any knowledge of this Blue Ocean hybrid? ...

Re: Mangaves anyone?

I'm no expert but probably not frost hardy.
Some maybe ok under a cloche, but it's early days for this hybrid.
I know for sure my friend will be experimenting.

Re: Mangaves anyone?

Lovely pictures Tina thanks for posting them. I particularly like your Blazing Saddles, very nice indeed. Actually they're all nice. At first I was attracted to the agave like shape, but they are all such interesting plants, plus the fact that they can put on good growth. As my friend is finding out...

Thats a lovely plant.

My friend has an unenviable choice pot up and watch h them grow, or withhold water and keep in smaller pots.

Best Regards
