That is not even close! Though you could have spotted it, as Ferocactus and Delosperma seeds are quite different. Or the one that sent you these should know better.

I thought this species has fluffy and soft spines, basically wooly. But these look rather sharp and pointy.

I do the same, but I use a sticker I attach to the tip of the most recent leave I can find in the center. I can write the year on it before I stick it on, so I know how fast it grows throughout the years. Assuming the sticker stays on and I can still read it after a few years... But I think your sol...
