Re: Generic vs Brother P-touch Cartridges
I’ve been using non-genuine tape for a long time. Brother originals are unjustifiably expensive. End of. They may be better quality, I don’t think the difference is significant. The price difference is monstrous. I’d rather relabel three times in twenty years than fork out full price for original ta...

Re: Green house
I’ve misted lightly and then ventilated. Just enough to wet the surface of the plants, but not wet the soil.

Re: Black and White
It’s interesting how different these are, but are we surprised? I don’t know when WR30 was first collected, but I expect these aren’t from first generation seeds. I suspect a bit of hybridisation has slipped in somewhere between the original collection and this generation. I suspect that is quite co...

Re: Anyone still waiting for their BCSS seeds?
I’ve just planted my seeds from ADBLPS, the first time I’ve bought seeds from there. They were ordered mid December and delivered earlier this week. I was warned when the order was accepted of the delivery time. What a pleasure though to have seeds in small envelopes with no glue on the closure. The...

Re: Echinopsis seedling growth
Some one year old seedlings from last year’s BCSS distribution, and some two year old Schick multihybrids. I do not force grow with lots of fertiliser, so many people may get bigger plants sooner than me.

Re: Offsets in winter .... a question
My approach; If it is a small cut or simple crack off, such as Opuntia or Echinopsis might be, I am happy to take the cutting when the plant is dormant. I would place the cutting sideways on dry substrate for a week before turning into the rooting position. I would keep the cutting in a cool, light ...

Re: New purchases!
The Pterocacti come from a Polish ebayer called multicactus. I’ve had many nice plants from there for good prices. My Echinopsis/Trichocereus plants mostly come from Wessner Kakteen, Uhlig Kakteen or one of the many German ebay sellers. Karl Rabsilber has been my main recent ebay source, though I ha...

Re: New purchases!
Not all new, at this time of year I do not completely segregate new plants. All the Pteros are new, probably half of the Echinopsis / Tricho hybrids.

And young Pterocacti don’t look anything special, they need a few years..
