Hi Geoff Specks tend to grow in pure pumice but I have done several of my more touchy plants in normal cactus soil with plenty of cat litter & then maybe 2" of pumice at the top so if they lose their roots they are not in contact with soggy soil. Phil What a load of flowers,do stop watering...

so what is the pot size?.
I have some ( at the moment:conf:) so fingers crossed for all the liitle burgeri's.
I have them on my kitchen window ledge so they are checked very regularly, I'll probably manage to kill them with kindness instead.

Hi Geoff an all Can't really speak from experience as I have only had my plants for 6 months but from what I have read the main problem is keeping them warm enough, apparently minimum temp is 65degrees but if they are kept too cool they lose their roots so have to regrow them every yr, which means t...

Hi Chaps So where did you get them from ?, I have D.gigas which seems to be doing Ok but does like it warm but do you get the lowerleaves going yellow & falling off, I wonder if it needs feeding, a repot or keeping a little drier?. I know Rene G is supposed to have some of these. How about a pic...

I have some that are still on grafts after 4+ yrs, I find that after a while it's difficult to seperate the two parts cleanly.
