Thought it might be best to add the photos as a separate thread in Greenhouse Tours so I can keep adding to it as the collection grows.

Re: My conservatory collection

And then my wife said how she liked the big Echinocactus flowering at Abbey Brook so we got one of those from Southfields, IMG_20191218_100806.jpg Apparently at that size they're about 20 years from seed. Looking forward to seeing it grow and hopefully flower in another decade or two! IMG_20191218_1...

My conservatory collection

In my introduction thread I promised to post some pictures of my collection so far but figured they'd be better here in a thread that can show the expansion over time better! IMG_20191218_100825.jpg IMG_20191218_100844.jpg IMG_20191218_100816.jpg IMG_20191218_100909.jpg IMG_20191218_100905.jpg

Re: Which seeds have you ordered this year?

Not sure it needs fertiliser in water. I've never used it. Don't think I would have sown it until spring but then I don't have lights. I'm too impatient and will have annuals, perennials and some fruit and veg to sow then and they are much more work than the cacti and succulents seem to be - they'l...

Re: Which seeds have you ordered this year?

Aloe polyphylla does well growing in water with a little fertiliser, do a forum search. GA3 I had varied results & none were positive Thanks Tina - I read your post which is why I didn't put the GA3 in. I have added fertiliser to the water for that and those are still in the container on kitche...

Re: Hello

Thanks and thanks for the reassurance Rod. When sowing the Agave seeds that I'd soaked in GA3 on Saturday I had a shock - 3 of the 4 (and possibly the A.montana but I didn't notice) had already started to sprout! I'll certainly use GA3 again after those results! These are the Agave victoria-reginae ...

Re: Hello

Thanks for the welcomes. I've been reading up Rod and have sorted a propagator with an led light to give the seedlings a head start. As my office is bright and heated over the winter to 20 degrees during the day with colder nights and then a couple of weeks colder over Christmas I'm hoping I can kee...

Re: Which seeds have you ordered this year?

This is the first time I'm growing cacti and succulents from seed but I sow lots of stuff for outdoors every year. I've got the following started off it water / GA3: Aloe polyphylla (damp kitchen roll with fertiliser - no GA3) Yucca Agave victoria-reginae Agave filifera var schidigera Agave montana ...

Hello

Hi, Just joined as a member of the BCSS and the forum. Been growing plants of various forms for years including a few Aeonium but got into Echeveria too. And, as I have a new office with a conservatory roof that's too hot and dry for orchids in the summer and too cold overnight in the winter, I got ...
