If the heat comes from the ground then bubble-wrap on benches and this type of carry-on can't be of much use surely?

Re: It's going to get cold.
Whenever it gets cold I'm reminded of these informative articles by Philip Greswell.

Re: It's going to get cold.
I asked the same question on here before @Aiko as I don't really understand how fleece, paper and bubble-wrap work. And I've searched extensively on the internet. Outside in the garden they surely prevent wind-chill but inside that wouldn't be the case. It's probably got something to do with the way...

It's going to get cold.
How cold we don't know yet. https://www.bbc.com/weather/outlook It's time to take out the bubble wrap. I just lay it over the plants. Far too big a job to hang it inside the walls and roof. it's not the cold I'm afraid of as such, but the resulting condensation. I read there that some greenhouses ha...

Re: The Black Death?
Is there any way to treat bacterial infections?
I've posted here before that I just can't grow Lobivia jajoiana. Seedlings just turn brown like a bad RSM infection.
Adult plants that I've bought turn black like in the picture above.
I'm seeing some black marks on some Gymnocalycium now also.

Re: Cleistocactus winteri ssp colademono
I was sent a rooted cutting which grew into a good sized plant, but then rotted at the base. However all of the stems that seemed rot free simply refused to root and gradually withered away. Has anybody else has trouble rooting these cuttings? I broke up this winteri plant after it flowered in 2022...
