Re: Dilemma about baggie method: Poke holes before to use or after to open Solved
Once you take them out of the bag they need to be treated like adults so you need drainage holes. However it's going to be difficult to make them now. Perhaps use a hot poker.

Re: Greenhouse tips?
Yes, I think a damp proof concrete base is essential. It also acts as a heat ballast, keeping it cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Stops wooden staging from rotting. One layer of concrete blocks on a concrete base also gives you extra height, but you'll need to step over them to get in. The...

I thought Neem Oil was banned as a pesticide in the UK. Neem oil exposure may cause abortion or lead to infertility, and it may cause liver damage in children. Pesticides containing neem oil (Azadirachtin) are banned in the UK.9 Sep 2016 I think the word "exposure" should be replaced with...

The trouble is always the eggs that we cannot see. As the life cycle is so long once you see them they are more or less certain to have laid eggs already. I suspect, given that you've only a small collection, the only way you might get rid of them is to de-pot, clean with meths, repot with Diatomac...

Re: Greenhouse Restoration
My frame is as pictured in the third photo on page one. It's an inverted T frame that originally held 18 inch glass panes. Whatever I use I'll have to secure it with silicone only. I can't see any other way. I can't see myself adding wooden purlins at this stage. Obviously I'm leaning towards the so...

Re: Greenhouse Restoration
Has anybody any experience of using solid polycarbonate?
I'm trying to figure out what is a suitable thickness. My opening is for old 18 inch glass, 460mm approximately.
Once this goes up it's going to be difficult to maintain, so I need something that will last.
