Re: Recommendation wanted for an Inkbird or Biogreen thermostat

The Inkbird ITC-308 is currently £29.99 at Amazon. However, there is a Lightning Deal tomorrow (Tuesday) for Prime members and whilst I am not aware of what the price will be, it sure looks like a good time to buy one. At a guess, I reckon the special discount will be in the order of £3-£5.00. Chec...

However, I do have fans which come on when the RH is over 90%, to try to help prevent botrytis etc.

Re: Overwintering plants - Relative Humidity

What is the minimum RH for mesembs that would be OK during winter? My problem is low humidity. My mesembs are kept indoors over winter. It is way too warm for them indoors (especially once you shine some intense light at them), and I cool them by blowing outside air (at about -15C and 60%RH) onto t...

Fortunately, the health and safety officer didn't tell me to get rid of the plants - but that was because I was the H&S officer...

So, Tylecodons are OK, but beware Euphorbias...

Re: Coping with fog

Ah yes the Hope Valley works - I remember it well from my days of living not over far away from it. And sunny (not) days in the Mersey and Medlock valleys as a student! Interesting thought though about "humidity" (see my thread elsewhere) and "fog" --- yes the same problem from o...

Re: Overwintering plants - Relative Humidity

HI, It depends what plants you grow, how crowded they are and whether you have any fans to move the air around. Suzanne Hi Suzanne It's the cacti such as Echinopsis Gymnocalcium etc which I'll move over. The sensitive stuff like Schlumbergera will stay in the house The heater has a fan and is contr...

Overwintering plants - Relative Humidity

I can maintain 5C in my new greenhouse (yes newbie advice) -- but what should the maximum RH be?

Re: Any other spring chickens?

Hi and welcome. I'm a newbie enthusiast but an oldie by age ... and understand what you are saying. This issue has been raised as a thread elsewhere on the forum. I often visit AbbeyBrook Cactus Nursery in Darley Dale when I am in the area ..... and often see people of the teen to forty group .... d...
