Hi diane nice to be back finally got computer issues sorted I hope but not holding my breath :)

and yes she is gorgeous she is about 8 now we dont know for sure as she was a rescue cat someone dumped her in the local canal in a sack with her brothers and sisters she was the only one that made it.

Hi I too have a cat called Purrdy and cacti on windowsills I have found the most effective thing is to put them on a table in front of the window rather than the sill itself or in troughs in your case a trough would be to big though. Have you thought about hanging a shelf from the top of the window ...

wow thats some story and some cactus as well

its amazing how misused and abused cacti are sometimes my aunt the other day said oh water them every two weeks you will be fine I will be but what about the plant.

just goes to prove the right place right time you could end up with something brilliant.
