Re: Hoya carnosa
Ralph The best fluorescence is to be had from white-ish flowers. Purple-ish are OK provided that the colours are purple and not shades of red but shades of blue. ROYGBIV. Fluorescence yields colours with longer wavelengths. So you'll not see much fluorescence from yellow through red. Gymnocalycium a...

Re: Hoya carnosa
I'm using a 330nm unit at present, but the output is not sufficient for one of the images I've tried to make. Large UV units are a bit pricey. How well does the UV torch you mention illuminate? What is the fluorescence like? I'm not interested in reflectance UV, only fluorescence. It is very bright...

I have this as Aylostera pulvinosa. It was purchased from a Branch sale as a remainder in need of TLC. 8 months on it has repaid the treatment.

Re: Hoya carnosa
What a lovely flower. It looks like it would reflect ultraviolet light well. Or inspire an interior designer. (tu) I don't know about reflection but it does not appear to fluoresce with a 365nm UV torch. As the fragrance is produced after sundown and the flowers point downwards, UV reflection is no...
