The smaller growing epiphytic cacti such as Hatiora rosea or Schlumbergera opuntioides will do very well on a shady windowsill indoors providing they aren’t exposed to sudden changes in temperature

Selenicereus (Epiphyllum) chrysocardium

I was pleasantly amazed to see some young plants of this wonderful species in my local garden centre.
Has anyone experience of growing it, particularly in reference to minimum winter temperatures?
It would be quite nice to know before I shell out £25…

Beautiful. Mines seed grown and about 20 years old now. No matter how often I repot it, it fills the new pot to bursting with roots. I have it standing in a saucer to make sure it gets plenty of water. I’ve never had more than 2 flowers simultaneously though

This is what used to be called Epiphyllum ‘Cooperi’, I believe it is now Disocactus crenatus ssp. kimnachii. The flowers open in the evening but stay open for a few days unlike the true nocturnal Epiphyllums. They are very large, the central petals are around 5 inches in diameter and they are around...
