Re: Winter watering success

Hi,

Thank you both for your comments. I think the plant has been kept pretty dry this year. When I first watered it, (May I think) it did not seem to respond at all, so I assumed it was not ready to start growing and left it for a few more weeks.

Perhaps next year I'll be a little more generous.

Winter watering success

I noticed in the recent 'winter watering' thread that Ian suggested a little water could still be given to Titanopsis to encourage them to open their flowers. Ferocactus I.D. please

Hi, I bought this recently from a local garden centre. It had been sitting there for about a year and I felt sorry for it. It has been damaged as you can see and I figured nobody else would buy it. I assume it's a Ferocactus, but can anybody tell me which one please. Although you wouldn't know it, I...

Re: New member and request for advice

Hi again,

I would just like to thank everyone for welcoming me and for your comments and help. It is very much appreciated.

Dot asked if I grow succulents - well I have a few mesembs and a couple of oddments but that's it really. I don't have enough room for many other succulents.

New member and request for advice

Hi, My name is Sheila and I joined the forum a few weeks ago, since when I have been 'lurking'. I've very much enjoyed reading the various posts and looking at the many interesting pictures. I have a small collection (about 100 plants), mainly cacti, including Gymnocalycium, Notocactus, Lobivia, Reb...
