Re: Cold hardy Cacti seedlings

Might need a bigger outdoor bed! Lots of species can take the cold of a British winter, not so many that can take the wet of either summer or winter. Especially this summer! Can’t believe how wet this July has been. The round stone planter with P.simpsonii and a few Escobarias has been brought in t...

Re: Cold hardy Cacti seedlings

Brilliant! Well done. Thanks Mike. 👍 Have you tried Stenocactus / Echinofossulocactus? They are quite hardy and (all?) should be able to take -15C when completely dry. Maybe not something for in the outside bed, but still very suited for an unheated greenhouse. I do have a few Stenocactus that I gr...

I know I wasn’t expecting this much to survive. These are v. robustior. I have about the same again of the v. splendens!

Could do with shifting some to make space!

Re: Mammillaria guelzowiana x 2

Looking fantastic Dianne.

One of mine has almost gone after a severe infestation of mealies. They seem to love this plant!

I do have a tonne of seedlings from that plant though so all is well for the next generation

Thank you Juster, Ralph.

I do check almost daily for slugs and snails Ralph, especially in the evenings after rain and relocate
