I’ve always said that an all-round mass produced cactus and succulent fertilizer is impossible, hence the differences in even the basic N.P.K. rates, let alone the trace elements. Our plants are so diverse in their rate of growth, habit and botany etc. it can’t be done. I tend to swap and change bet...

I was of course hoping to keep it intact, but thought it might come to chopping it!

Now to try and source some suitable stock, not easy at this time!

Thought I had lost this when it was invaded by mealy bug in the middle of winter and I had to cover in in diluted meths.

Very late coming into leaf this year but it's finally made it.

I have had this rather nice Astrophytum onzuka cristate for some years now but the stock seems to have rotted. Any advice on what I should do now would be gratefully received. Thanks for your comments. I originally got the plant from a member of our branch about ten years ago who wanted to make room in his greenhouse, and it has been potted on several times since. The only special treatment it gets is a spray over with SB plant invigorater every two weeks during the summe...
