Re: What to do with newly imported Haworthia

Thought I'd update this thread with some pictures of how they look today and what the IDs are now (we think!). (Please excuse me if some are now in some of the new genera - not got totally up-to-speed on them as these are not my main passion!) PXL_20210601_180824512.jpg PXL_20210601_180439205.jpg PX...

Re: Johnson's Gold

Great flower Ralph. I've got this and Papagei which has the same mutation but is a different clone, allegedly. Only got them in the winter but neither have flowered yet so keeping my fingers crossed that they will later this year.

Re: Rebutia/Aylostera ‘Amber’

I agree Diane it is outstanding. The size and longevity of the flowers on mine has been amazing this year. I think I need to improve my culture to get a show as good as you have got though!

Re: Hello from sunny Southport

Hi Doug, Welcome to the forum. I can't see your pictures (there is thread on here somewhere about how to post photos but not sure where!) but I think your rat tail cactus is likely to be Aporocactus flagelliformis. If you can figure out how to pop up photos somewhere on here will be able to tell it ...

Re: I hate Snails!

I've found the copper rings, with sharp grit either side and nematodes a couple of times a year reduces the damage, especially on new growth but doesn't eliminate it. Good enough for me though.

Re: Cleistogamous

Love that word. I have Geranium ocellatum (and used to have another close relative of it, biuncinatum) that does the same. Once the summer weather gets going you do get a decent show of open flowers too, fortunately.
