Re: Pelecyphora strobiliformis -- A brief history

Hi David

The Pelecyphora strobiliformis are impressive, I don't think I have ever had any viable seed, let alone seedlings but with Pelecyphora asseliformis I have quite a few tiny seedlings but I think I went for the 100 seed pkt from Koehres to ensure I managed a decent No.

Re: Fouquieria splendens

Hi I had similar problems with an Idria & found it grew best in a planter. Re -Fouquieria, I only have a couple of seed grown plants & they will go in the planter this yr aswell, lots of succulents seem to appreciate extra rootrun, some caudiciforms grew extremely fast but like Nick mentione...

Re: Belated Xmas pressie

Hi Tom Beer whilst not essential was an enticement, think he's more worried what I will spend & me chatting up strange men to see their plants:rofl:. Patrick I'm hoping to get more specimen size succulents and there is a lot more variety at ELK, not as many people like my sort of plants ( green ...

Re: Belated Xmas pressie

Hi Dot Derek made some badges which were available at forum meet up, perhaps we can organise a meet up for ELK. Sounds like the guys always meet at the bar anyway so no hardship involved. We should find the thread with photo's from the Wisley visit so you can put faces to names, although not all wil...

Re: Excited about sowing seeds yet?

Hi Nick Re Penroc, the minimum seed you had to spend was £40, which put me off actually ordering & I did think they were expensive when you sometimes only got a couple of seeds but I suppose they are the only suppliers available of some of the seeds so perhaps it's reasoanable for the rarity fac...

Re: New Euphorbia's

Hi Peter Thank you for the information, I'll try & get a pict of my other E.poisonii tomorrow to show you the difference. I am borrowing the Euphorb books from Colin but I am only at volume 4, I must buy a set but at the moment prefer buying plants to lot's of book. Strawberry press do have a go...

Re: New Euphorbia's

Hi Peter

Doh, obviously need to get my brain in gear What about this one sold as Poisonii, my other plant has a totally smooth trunk but this does look similar to a plant pict posted by someone else on th...

Re: New Euphorbia

Hi all Yes I think you are right, leave it as it is. Would look pretty sad if I did trim it and as Peter says they are slow growing it would need to wear a paper bag for quite a while:diss:. Here's one of the other Euphorbs supposedly Unispina but I'm not too sure as ...
