Re: Southfields
Hi Bruce Thanks for sharing the pics with those who don't live so close. The Lithops look rather neglected, were there any planted in pots for sale? They were certainly flowering well. Southfields really does get some good spination on their plants, but then so do the Edgintons, it must be that part...

Hi All,
I am in the process of redoing my Lithops labels and one source for a plant has me defeated, can anyone throw any light on it?
LMP/83/82
It refers to Lithops julii fulleri brunnea
Thanks for any help (you would think I ought to know!)

Re: Tesco lightweight grey cat litter
8.9.2009 Hi Dave, I have used this instead of the brown clay stuff, chiefly because it was in the house, and I find that it works a treat. It does hiss on the uptake of water and tends to clag a little, but it gets things rooted a treat. I tend to layer it, that is put my regular potting mix in the ...

8.9.2009 Hi to all of you going to ELK. I expect that most of you will have used the services of Daphne Pritchard, the U.K. rep. She is phoning round a few of you and I thought it would be sensible to let you all know that she and Albert will not be at this year's ELK because Albert died unexpectedl...

7.9.2009 Mike, As you say Chris Moore's site will not be updated, but is a very good record for posterity. Gerry Barad's is also unlikely to be updated as he is quite elderly, around 85-88, but you never know. What is needed as always is fresh young blood. The most important thing however is to be a...

Re: BCSS Convention 2010
Hi Julie, As you say really choice plants are preferable for the auction, rarity also comes into it, but items other than plants are also wanted - books, artwork, stamps and other ephemera which will be of interest to cactophiles. There will also be a raffle and items are needed for that if you pref...

This has been organised in conjunction with Crawley Ho...

Re: Lithops seed viability
21.8.2009 Hi Ross, Lithops seeds remain viable for a considerable number of years if stored correctly, i.e. in the dark, in the dry and not too hot. I have successfully germinated seed that was 20 years old. What you do get with considerable age is diminishing returns, this I have not measured, but ...
