Re: A little help/advice

Glad to see some not so patronising views shared as well. I wonder (and I wonder a lot reading this thread...) whether anyone should even be allowed to try to grow plants not personally collected in the vast wilderness of Africa, S. America or any other fancy locality, and only after visiting the pa...

Re: A little help/advice

Aiko, esp, both of you nicely explained what I meant - one cannot simply leave them sealed for months. Thank you for the Crassulacea tips as well, I have a second batch of Tylecodon seeds arriving soon, so every bit helps!

Re: A little help/advice

Back to the topic, I don't think I would bother with bags or boiling the soil when dealing with more than 20 pots at a time, but it's a great help if one would rather forget about them for months. Bags don't work that great with mesembs though, and are great in decimating Crassulacea seedlings if le...

Re: How many pairs of leaves should Argyroderma congregatum have?

That all makes sense, thank you! The description wasn't 100% clear to me, but that's probably because of not so great experience in reading them.

On the Lapidaria, it's absolutely a curiosity I would love to see in person, but not necessarily do this to my own plants!

How many pairs of leaves should Argyroderma congregatum have?

Some time ago I have acquired a pair of Argyroderma congregatum plants (HH5032 and a "no-id"), and am now wondering how many pairs of leaves I should keep on them? Description in "Illustrated Handbook of Succulent Plants Aizoaceae (2nd Ed, A-Z), Heidrun E.K. Hartmann (2017)" reads: L hood-shaped, sp...

Re: A little help/advice

[...] For context they were sown in a heated propagator with the correct soil etc. You would need to elaborate on that, there is so many different advice "on the Internet", that this can be anything really! Speaking from a very beginner's perspective, boiling the John Innes/moler clay mix already i...

Yes I'm pretty sure that's it Mat. I've had it about ten years or so and it's in a 2" pot. Not a fast grower, at least not for me!
Thanks! It's both a curse and a blessing at the same time hah!

Re: Regarding ,, cactus and succulent identification thread

[...] Edit.. one of the identification posts that was missed by other forum users was yours. This is the situation I'm conserned would happen with a separate section. Pinpointing just your edit, I believe that post grew too large and that turned people away of it, but I might be wrong. People might...
