Re: What's Your Best Weed?

Definitely Kalanchoe (Bryophyllum) - K. grandiflora and K. x houghtonii. I brought a couple of each from Rangitoto Island (naturalized there) in 2008 and still didn't get rid of them... Next is Portulaca.

Re: Aeonium

Yes, correct. However, I just have cited Rudolf Schulz and his Aeonium book. Personally I always use 'Kiwi' or 'Kiwionium' ... hard to say which was the first name.

I just bought it as Aeonium haworthii variegated, but having looked up 'kiwi' I can see what you mean.
It is a cultivar of Aeonium haworthii, often named A. 'Kiwi', A. 'Kiwionium' or A. 'Tricolour'.

Re: Collected plants

Well, No. 3 was obviously different - many were tempted to place the bid on that. I would have said No. 2 or No. 4 (with a preference for No. 2). I would have lost anyway.

No. 1 - out of the question (no Pelecyphora grows in habitat like that).

But that was an interesting topic!

Re: Sansevierias in Garden Centres

Here's two that I didn't buy. Interesting bit of marketing but unfortunately the pattern was carved into the plant, not painted as it might look. They were expensive too, very wide leaves but about £25 each, presumably paying extra for the artwork! Horrible Stuart, I have never seen that! (Well, ex...

Hi All,

Fixed now:

https://carpophyma.page.tl/

Download links are next to the issue number.

It's just a cheap version (as Frank Zappa would have said) but don't forget I'm living in the Southern Hemisphere  (I still stand to this)

Well, I know it as Aeonium 'Sunburst'.

http://www.llifle.com/Encyclopedia/SUCC ... ._Sunburst gives the following synonyms:

Aeonium arboreum f. luteovariegatum hort.

Phil_SK wrote: Tue Sep 08, 2020 8:36 pm Any ideas where "Nadi" has come from or what it might mean?
Well, Nadi is a town in Fiji... but this can't be relevant

Nadi is (I think) not necessarily describing a location. Nadi is an Arabic word meaning "club" or "call".

Yes, that's the plan. I will do this for sure over the next few weeks.
