Re: Wild Aloe aloes on Rangitoto Island, New Zealand
Hi Derek, I haven't seen flowering Aloes on Rangitoto, the Department of Conservation keeps all populations of large succulent plants (well, except the weedy ones, like C. multicava, or the tiny ones like Sedum album) at "Zero Density" - this means no adult plants, or worst case plants are...

Re: Wild Aloe aloes on Rangitoto Island, New Zealand
Hi Devrim, It might be from seed, I don't know. There are several succulent species growing wild, most of them garden escapes from abandoned gardens. Another Aloe growing here is A. maculata, this one is setting seed. Here's Aloe maculata growing on the lava fields, between moss, lichens and debris: ...

Hi Dot,
I am not a member of the Sedum Society but of International Crasulaceae Network. I have exchanged a couple of emails with Ray Stephenson, but I don't know him in person.
Cheers,
Eduart

Re: x Pachyveria exotica
Hi Dot,
I have briefly discussed about this plant with Margrit Bishofberger of Internatonal Crassulaceae Network and she advised me about the similarities with X Pachveria 'Kobayashi'; she even mentioned your name in regards with the source of her plant.
Cheers,
Eduart

Re: Cheers from Downunder
Thanks for youe warm welcome!
I will put some other photos with naturalized plants soon; there are some 40 - 50 species of naturalized succulent plants here in New Zealand, and casual escapes as well maybe in low hundreds.
Cheers,
Eduart
