Re: Long Toms for Lithops?

I am using rather deep pots for my lithops with a very good results. Although these are filled with mostly inorganic substrate. I was told in the past that Desmond Cole would keep his plants in 12 inch containers.

I can only second that - plants received earlier this year exceeded my expectations. Very nicely grown and excellent value for their price. Well done you guys!

For Drimia uniflora it is normal to flower at this time of the year. Or do you see grass like leaves appearing already?

Re: Autumn on the way?

It goes further: dioscorea hemicrypta, drimia uniflora and even albuca hallii. The last two are definitely my winter growers. So much so, that I have given a splash of water to few conos I have, which they reacted very well to. I hope that it will not backfire later on.

Autumn on the way?

I wonder if my plants are trying to tell me something as my dioscorea elephantipes and tylecodon singularis started growing again. Dioscorea is an opportunistic grower, although it wasn't watered, but as for tylecodon, it is rather early in my experience. How are your plants doing?

Re: Growing dioscorea elephantipes from seed

I keep mine in a bag for the first few months. If anything, unseal it. They do like the water and it benefits them. And you can wait for repotting until next year - they will be happier being bit squashed at that early stages of growth. It seems that there are as many way of growing plants as there ...

Re: Pelargonium flowers

Following the advice of a more experienced grower, I give my plant water all year round. In line with, if in leaf, water. It is enjoying that treatment and it is currently in leaf.
