Re: Crown of thorns

Do you mean Euphorbia Millii? I have had one for some years. I keep it in a warm room and well watered but it really only flowers in summer. If I stop watering it the leaves do drop. Mind you, I also have one in a cool porch and only water it a bit and it does not drop it's leaves. I expect more lea...

Re: id please.

Patrick. I have a Mammalaria Spinossima but not as far as I know 'Un Pico'. It has brown ends to the spines, which are slightly hooked and quite long. It seems more like ssp spinossima than ssp pilayensis, which has short spines. It grows horizontally once it gets to about 10cms in height. I imagine...

Re: Stapelia/Aeoniums

Patrick, Aeoniums as Vic says are winter growers and as a result need to be kept frost-free and damp. If you don't water them they won't grow and there is no chance that they will flower in spring. Keeping them in your porch at those temperatures is fine, how much sunlight do they get? They will nee...

Amazing photos again Trevor. Those clumps of Copiapoas are incredible, beautiful and HUGE. It's a fantastic hillside. I don't believe iann could get one in his greenhouse!

Re: My Crassy (Gollum)

After reading all the tales of doom about damp and humidity in greenhouses, it sounds like gollum has had an attack of damp. I suggest you put it somewhere drier but cool and remove offending black leaves. I have one of these and it looked all right this afternoon but it sounds like it needs closer ...

Re: Oxalis in the greenhouse

Scousetigger, The flowers maybe nice but that is where the seed comes from. I 'm not sure if you are talking about Oxalis Carnosa or Oxalis Corniculata. Carnosa has nice flowers and succulent leaves and is not a huge problem even when it self seeds. The other is the invasive pest with a creeping roo...

Maria,
Nice of you to notice me. I'm really pleased to be part of the forum. I 've learnt a lot reading through it all. I have to agree with everyone's comments about Trevor's pictures and say again, amazing. When's the book coming out?

Re: Oxalis in the greenhouse

Nick,
Oxalis Carnosa is a succulent Oxalis and will self seed everywhere, especially in a greenhouse. It's a nice plant that grows in summer with yellow flowers and seems quite tough in winter. I grow it outside in summer, it will flower well if we get some sun.

This is my first message to the Forum, after having looked through all of Trevor's pictures I had to write. It's difficult to express my admiration 'MIND-BLOWING' is something like. The quality of pictures is superb and the plants fantastic. I sat there wishing I was on the trip!
