Many thanks Ray. After looking at many pics, and some confusing variation of spination, I am coming to the fendleri option. But the plant has lived without a label for twenty years so will probably carry on ok without!

I would say that would depend on the age of the scions you were hoping to graft. Something I was thinking of was seedling to seedling grafts, just for 12 months or so to bring on slow seedlings.
