Re: December: Winter

I am X pachyveria corvus. My owner has been naughty and brought me in from outside to photograph me. I love winter time, rain, snow wind, minus 6 what's not to like, I am even having a baby I like it so much. My owner is now putting me back outside before I protest at being too warm.

Re: One for Tony or Stuart

Thanks Tony. I am pleased I started this thread. Its interesting. I have noticed that my thunbergii has white horizontal stripes running down the length of the dark green leaves whereas the G. C. Var verrucosa plants have dull green leaves with raised white spots. Having so many of these plants and ...

Re: One for Tony or Stuart

Thank you very much. Excellent information. Does that mean Gasteria carinata var. verrucosa is a sperate species?. I have two plants with that name. Obtained from Abbeybrook in 2018. One has Abbey brook ref. number 7645 Ex RE73 (Ron Evans?) The other has Abbeybrook number 7502 Herbertsdale form, Ex....

Re: Cotyledon in flower

Apparently both versions are now listed on the South African red list as vulnerable. I too would be interested if the Ladismithensis is available.

Re: Cotyledon in flower

I found the following text on the internet. There's also a photograph of a plant at the US Botanic garden that looks exactly as mine and is labelled as C. tomentosa ssp. ladismithensis . I am now confused! Hopefully Derek will reveal all. Cotyledon tomentosa is a perennial evergreen shrub, which is ...

Re: Cotyledon in flower

Mat, thank you for your comments. I will be interested to read any comments from our national Judge Stuart. I got the plant from him in 2018 described/advertised as Cotyledon ladismithiensis reverse variegated. In the interim the name as I have it will remain.

Cotyledon in flower

Today I found this in flower. Its been very dark ,dismal and extremely wet here in North East England but this plant and the Othonna's are ignoring the conditions. (inside and outside the greenhouse!)
Cotyledon ladismithensis reverse variegated.
