Hi Diana
I remember hatching chick eggs with the same theory, pipping triggers hatching in neighbouring eggs(:D & Phil said something similar with Blossfeldia & stromob's seeds about mass germination.
I'll give them a try next week

I prefer cat litter to grit, it makes a much looser soil mix.

I forgot to say that I did get some c.burgeri seed so wil try again this weekend but I want to get some of the grit Diane mentioned first.

I have managed 3 times to get C burgeri seedlings growing but thats as far as they ge, the largest was maybe 3mm but I have problems remembering to spray /care for them as they are more demanding than my other succculent/cacti seeds.
