Re: Thelocephala

In my view the three plants with non yellow flowers are most probably hybrids or a different species of Eriosyce... Well, lets move on to another one because it flowered today. E. esmeraldana comes really close in morphology to Thelocephala nuda (either E. napina ssp. aerocarpa or E. napina ssp. gla...

Re: Eriosyce esmeraldana

Strange how E. napina has been split every which way and E. esmeraldana not touched. Does nobody travel that far north? ;) Maybe esmeraldana just got lucky having been overlooked by taxonomists (tu) ?? Some of the southern E. napina subspecies look much more like E. esmeraldana than they do o...

Re: Thelocephala

Can the spination and the color of the flower vary that much in a single population of one collection site of Wendelin Mächler (WM013)?

Hello, let´s discuss Eriosyce krausii or Eriosyce odieri ssp. krausii, as you like. A typical plant from adariagarden in Romania: Eriosyce krausii 2012 August01-3.jpg Another two krausii Th. longirapa Eriosyce krausii WK750 (Nc. longirapa), Portofino 2014 Juno18-17.jpg Are there any E. krausii with ...

Re: Argentinian Pyrrhocactus

Those are beautiful flowers on those vilicumensis plants Dave , Mal and Ian! I can´t tell about flowering conditions for villlicumensis since I only have seedlings of hat species. I was going to recomend higher temperatures to encourage the opening of the flower too - but then some of my argentinian...
