Just as a further follow up to this,
We had a phone call on Wednesday afternoon from our local APHA representative saying they would be visiting us on Thursday, which they duly did.
no charge to us for this inspection.
However, during the inspection they informed us that although as far as we were aware we had registered and been told that we were 'authorised to issue plant passports' I even found the email to that effect. We need to have a further inspection in order to be 'authenticated' and for that there IS a charge.
We received an email later yesterday with further information about this, it is an annual requirement, the charge for this inspection is "£61.58 for each 15 minutes (or part thereof) minimum fee of £123.16"
timing includes travel time.
I have attached a screenshot of the relevant section.....
This may well have an impact on our continuing online selling.

We are on yearly inspections for plant passporting and have just had our second charged one. Both have taken just about 30 minutes and we've never been charged for travelling time.

It was the travel time which concerned us a bit, it would almost certainly eat into three 15 minute periods, so could presumably be as much as 8 x £61.58 so £492.64 or more if it is over half an hour for the inspection, not sure it is worth that much to us.
We will have to think about it, and maybe try to get an idea from the people who came on Thursday.
