Loxanthocereus Hoxeyi
Loxanthocereus Hoxeyi was only discovered in Peru about ten years ago and has an English connection as it was named for Paul Hoxey who discovered it. Also a BCSS connection as it was described by our new President. Without the flowers, it's not really got much going for it but any cereoid flowering at about 5ins high and at a time when not many other cacti are in flower makes it worth having.

Are they hardy?
Not much info to be found on it.

This is supposed to be the type locality (based on https://www.researchgate.net/publicatio ... thern_Peru, but I might be totally wrong here!): https://www.worldweatheronline.com/lang ... na/pe.aspx, average temps never go lower than 10C.

Just wait till the flowers open. They are stunning - bright red and yellow!
