You beat me to it!

I sowed VS99 but none germinated. I have the extra bit of info in my database - that the altitude was 3600m.

I think WP is Wolfgang Papsch, although his numbers seem to be in the format WP 00-xxx/xxx. I have a WP89 with no other bits, labelled Gymno. reductum.

You know you can sometimes identify the collector, if not the actual collection, don't you? http://ralph.cs.cf.ac.uk/Cacti/collector.html

M maybe Detlev Metzing, but I think the M numbers are in Ralph's list as are STO, so maybe he just does not have that number?

STO = Amerhauser, Till & Strigl

WP = Wolfgang Pasch, some of his Gymno numbers here:-

I have an Echinocereus knippelianus ssp. kruegeri with a field number PB200. PB is not on Ralph's fantastic database.

If anyone can shed any light on who PB is, or any field collection details, I would be very grateful.
