I think there is a clue in the name  the 2430PC can use 24mm wide tape but the 1230PC is limited to 12mm - they can both use the narrower tapes (3.5mm, 6mm & 9mm).
Thanks Jim. I thought that maybe one of them is a newer version, hence with some additional funcionality.

This is one of the few occasions where I stick with the OEM's consumables. Brother's TZ labels are UV, heat and chemical proof and normally outlast the plastic label they're stuck to. I've never seen one fade yet. What I have seen is faded labels from other manufacturers.

Yopu wont regret it. My 10+ year old Brother labels are as good s the day they were produced.
