Escobaria missourensis winter and summer
Thought you might be interested to see pictures of the same plant dehydrated in winter to protect tissue from freezing damage, and rehydrated now in the summer and about to flower.

A very interesting set of photos, Roy, I look forward to seeing the plant in flower.

Even the pot shrunk in winter This should be big enough to flower. Any signs yet?

Yes, plenty of buds appearing - will post a picture when in full flower. I think the winter picture must have been taken with a different camera / phone hence the shrunk pot.
I have a couple of Escobaria vivipara and they behave in just the same way - swollen to full size now but much reduced in the winter months. They too are budding now and will post a picture when they bloom.I am away next week so hope it doesn't happen too soon!
