I think that method can work Mike, and I've had quite a bit of success in reducing Oxalis in the greenhouse in that way. Yes, great care is needed and I was anxious about trying it, but I didn't lose any plants and for a while I didn't see any Oxalis. Naturally it started to sneak back, it's a most persistent weed,
but I now try to keep it in check.

No flowers agin this year but plenty of new pads and growing fast!

Looking very healthy. Is there not a chance they'll flower later in the year?

Thanks edds, I doubt it but there is always a chance! In my experience with most opuntia though is flowers before new pads or at least at the same time.

That's good that know, thank you. I won't spend the summer in a vain hope that my larger fragilis will flower then!

I know the feeling! I have a bunch of small fragilis types that I was hoping would flower this year but it seems they prefer to put out pads and grow a little first.
