Harrogate Spring Flower Show 2019

Post by davidfair »

The first major flower show of the year is Harrogate Spring Show, this week Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, entry from 09:30h each day. The entry fee is £21.50 unless you bought tickets in advance but you get to see York Branch display so it's a bargain really.
More pics to follow over the next few days, but here are some tasters:-

That's a very good display. It deserves a good award. I'm sure it will get one, too.
the plant sales area looks attractive and the plants great quality. They will sell well, I hope there are plenty more to fill the spaces.
Obsessive Crassulaceae lover, especially Aeoniums but also grow, Aloes, Agaves, Haworthias and a select number of Cacti.

That does look lovely. We were hoping to visit but building work on our house started today so we don't want to leave the house unoccupied.

We won a gold despite the hats which we kept away from the judges.
We took over £560 in plants sales on day one which is quite volume of sales considering most plants were priced at £1.50 or £2.00.

Well done York branch .... selling and explaining
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.
