Hello folks,
I've generally got away with not specifically treating for RSM and just overhead watering, but got hit pretty badly at the end of last summer, sulcos in particular took a hammering from the mites.
I'm considering using SB plant invigorator this summer as a potential RSM treatment if they start to appear - but wanted to check whether any of you guys have had problems with scorch when using it in very hot weather - I've heard some soapy contact insecticides can be prone to causing scorch, and it would be a shame to ruin a few thousand plants in one go that way!
Any advice much appreciated.

Re: SB plant invigorator - scorch
Hi Conrad, I have used SB for a good number of years for RSM, both on cacti and fuchsias. I think it is probably best used before the problem becomes apparent, although I don't always manage this! I think there could easily be a problem with scorch, so I've always tried to spray either on an overcast day, in the evening or whenever plants are not in the sun. I've not had any problems and it's excellent for RSM. Hope this is helpful.

Thanks guys, sounds sensible - you don't have problems with scorch if the day after you spray it's a hot one? Presumably only potential there if the skin of the plants is still wet?

Yes I think that's correct and I've worked on that basis without problems. However, as you have so many plants, it might be wise to experiment with a small number first. Good luck.
