Re: Peter in Whitchurch
To echo previous visitors’ comments, I’d thoroughly recommend popping in to see Peter’s wonderful collection. I called by today and was bowled over by the number of beautiful plants, both inside Peter’s greenhouse and in his lovely garden. I left after being warmly welcomed with some terrific specimens - many with decades of growth under their belts. It’s well worth the journey if you have time.
Thanks again Peter if you’re reading this for such a nice day

Peter,
You plants look amazing, as always.
I'm sorry to hear you are downsizing, or disposing of your collection, but well done you for making the difficult decision to let them go when they are well loved and growing well. It must be a wrench for you though.
I would come and visit if I was closer, or more importantly, if I had some space in the greenhouse!
Good luck, I hope you manage to find good homes for them.

Especially interested in Mesembs. small Aloes and South African miniatures and bulbs.

Re: Peter in Whitchurch
Thank you Brian and also thanks to those who have travelled here and have made rather nice comments about the plants, etc.
I made the decision to sell off plants that I have grown for over 30 years because life's departure lounge nears (another 20 years hopefully but who knows?) and I would not wish that my family has the eventual responsibility of the disposing of the plants.
I cannot forget when John, the secretary of the Warrington branch, died. We found out too late and his collection of glorious plants had been dumped in a skip.
Another reason is that I have a two acre garden that folk visit and that takes up so much time that I find myself spending little time in the greenhouse nowadays. That's the time to stop, whilst the plants are in good nick.
It's great that the plants are going to such very nice people. Many plants have gone but there are still a thousand or more left.

Re: Peter in Whitchurch
I too can highly recommend a visit to see Peter & his collection, having made the journey today & come away with some wonderful plants at very reasonable prices! There’s still plenty left for those willing to make a journey. Thanks again Peter for such a warm welcome & taking the time to let me look around!

Hi Peter,
Do you have any succulents or caudiciforms lurking under the benches anywhere?
Amazing collection, by the way.

Hi Deltron,
Thanks for the kind comment about the collection.
I have spent many a night out there with a shotgun, trying my best to keep out these succulent and caudiciform things. However some did creep in, probably during those frequent occasions when the wife sent me to the off licence for a bottle of sherry. Pictures below, and as with all my plants, they are up for sale - but who on earth would want such weeds?

I'd love that big spiny Euphorbia! I guess it'll be cheap, being a weed..?
