Nice plants both.
I think Stenocactus is a very underrated genus.

Re: Stenocactus flowers!
So do I, just confusing with the names and knowing what you have or might like to acquire. Stenos flowering always welcomed in the warmer days of spring for me, a task now fulfilled by the Turbs but the Stenos are still loved.
Regards Keith.

I love them. One of the reliable early bloomers.

S. crispatus in the lumped sense, might have other names with the prominent central spine. Grandicornis?

Re: Stenocactus flowers!
I (re)discovered them last winter, so bought a lot of seeds. I just sowed them today.
I do have a few I sowed back in 1999. They are of flowering age (although still nice and small and compact), but only my Echinofossulocactus albatus is a regular flowerer.

I hope it's ok to add to this thread.
I can't recall the name of this one (dreaded faded label syndrome), but it's much darker than most, without the prominent midstripe.

Who cares .... it's great to see it
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.
