Surprised to find a 2 year old Thelocactus lausseri in flower, none of his siblings were tempted to do the same. The flower bud has been forming for 6 weeks and it finally took a splash of water for the flower to open. It's been growing unshaded in the apex of the greenhouse from a very young age as I was told it will get stressed if it doesn't get enough light. Maybe that helped. The plants are in 2.5" pots.

Mine has been in flower for a week or two. I can't remember where I obtained this one, (maybe a branch raffle prize) or how long I've had it, at least 3 or 4 years, I think.

One year on (now 3 years old) after transplanting into 3 - 3.5" pots. A substrate of pure lava rock and a diet of high potash fertiliser. Plenty of buds on each plant, spines lengthening nicely.
