Various Cacti and Succulent ID's
Hi, wondering if the experts here might be so kind as to share their knowledge as to what these plants likely are please? I've done some googling (e.g. I know the second one is an Opuntia of sorts) but trying to nail down the exact types is quite tricky to a relative newcomer as there are so many similar varieties.

1. No strong idea. Parodia?
2. Opuntia monacantha monstrosa
3. Gasteraloe hybrid
4. Could be Weberbauerocereus johnsonii
5. Cristate cactus - maybe Opuntia?
6. Aloe aristata
7. Kalanchoe, maybe K. longiflora

HI,
Nice little plants and pots.
Number 4 is Vatricania guentheri and is a group of three seedlings which could do with being separated before they get much older as they do reach a very good height, ours is currently about 10 foot tall and flowers. It is also a little temperature sensitive.

I think 2 is probably Opuntia subulata monstrose, as the stems look circular in cross section. Opuntia monacantha would have stems segments that are flat in cross section.
4 is Opuntia subulata cristate. This will often send up normal non-cristate stems, which are best removed (otherwise the plant puts much more effort into them than the cristate part). These can be rooted to give you the set of monstrose, cristate and normal subulata - if you have enough space. The monstrose and normal forms can get quite large.

Re: Various Cacti and Succulent ID's
Thank you for the comments. Glad I asked now as google can only do so much for me, as is evident by some of the differing suggestion I suppose!
While I have the thread created, got these 3 last night from B&Q to fill the 3 spare pots I had.
'Sunny room cactus' as the description for all as per the stickers doesn't quite cut it for me...I know the left hand one is obviously an opuntia of sorts again but can anyone confirm these for me please?
Given they were B&Q efforts they're going to be common at least.

I'm going with Opuntia Microdasys for the left one.

Correct!
Myrtillocactus geometrizans is next, then an Espostoa, I wouldn't care to guess the species.

Do you know of any decent videos on separating and potting things like that?topsy wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 2:41 pm HI,

I've repotted pot-bound succulents this year for the first time but that's easy enough.
Separating my oldest cactus plants feels like there's a bit more to go wrong.

Anyone?
Wouldn't want to make an arse of splitting them up! The compost is firm to the touch on the surface so I get the impression they won't just come apart very easily.
