This is the stuff someone mentioned before, didn't they say you needed PPE of some sort so would it be cautious use in the greenhouse in confined spaces or pot up in garden first or me with a bimbo moment :???:

DE is mainly silicate. It is very fine powder. It should NOT be inhaled.
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

Diatomaceous Earth is something I was hesitant to suggest as it is somewhat dangerous.

If you get some you MUST WEAR A CLOSE FITTING MASK.

Having said that I seem to have had positive results in using it, but it is a long term solution. My plants were dusted with it all over and it was left in situ for about EIGHT months, over autumn/winter/early spring.

Hmmm... I'm guessing not suitable for plants that live on the lounge and kitchen window sills then...

Always take precautions of course but I believe food grade DE is far lower in crystalline silica than non food grade. I always wear a mask when spraying my plants with SB or mixing compost as I've noticed dust comes of the clay particles.
