Ariocarpus

Post by Eric Williams »

Years ago I read that these plants do no need re potting or potting on until they show signs of out growing the pot. In Feb I decided that I would repot anyway as I was repotting all my collection. I was amazed how better the plants looked seven months on.Should have taken a picture

I think most of our plants do better for a repot even if they go back in the same size pot, ariocaprus like a lot more water than they are often given.

Thanks for the kind words Ralph. As I am getting on in age lol I decided to hurry up these plants. I did two things. 1, put the plants on high shelf , inches from the glass facing South, as per Rene Giesler advice. 2, repotted into Ariocarpus mix (Ray Allcock) of clay loam, grit, and limestone chippings. I then watered more than I normally watered Arios. and fed the more often. The growth and change in appearence was remarkable. Cheers

Beautiful plants. I'm going to water my Ariocarpus seedlings a bit more than I have been doing after seeing your plants 😁

I think I see an Aloinopsis disguising as an Ariocarpus.
