Epiphyllum anguliger coming into bloom

Post by babytoes1956 » Tue Oct 06, 2020 4:21 pm

I am reposting this, as first posted to the October photo post responding to call for photos of colours of Autumn (red, yellow, orange), but this came out much more cream upon opening, and I thought it might see more views as a separate post. The first flower opened just around midnight last night, with many more to follow.

Very nice flower and picture indeed. May I ask how old the plant was when it flowered first, as I have a few in pots that have not flowered for me yet.

Thanks all for the lovely comments. Eric, I'm not sure how old the plant was when I bought it in July 2019, but this is its first blooming fifteen months later. I would say the entire plant easily doubled in size, and number of stems over that period.

Again a great looking plant. I grew mine from seed hence my question. The plants are about the same size as yours so perhaps Autumn 2021.

This is one of my favourites at the moment, lovely shape.

Here’s mine flowering a couple of weeks ago. These were BCSS seeds from around 5 years ago.
