I hope it hadn't nibbled anything before you dealt with it!

I caught 7 in the cactus house last month

They nibbled the Rebutia rauschii and the Echinopsis

They took all the buds off the Gymnocalicium so I baited the traps with the ones they left. Caught them when they came back for them 🔨

Has the sale of peanut butter just gone up in Macclesfield?

Field mice have driven me bonkers over the last couple of years, the first sign that they are about being the vanishing fruit on epithelantha. Last winter I caught one casually munching an Avonia, and I lost several conophytum cuttings. Eventually I worked out where they were getting in (a tiny gap near the door) and blocked it, and located a nest in the rootball of an overwintering Canna. Since evicting them I have been mouse free, but I keep a live trap in the greenhouse all year around just in case, and I always close the doors and side vents at dusk.

I replace the glass in the doors with ½" wire mesh late April - Oct. It saves having to have them open and gives good ventilation.

I am reliably informed by an expert in the field, that Morrisons own brand (others are available) is the best for baiting the traps.
