Will we still be able to order seeds from, for instance, the USA without extra charges or forms to fill in?

That's exactly what I was wondering. I've bought seeds from Mesa Garden for years, and never needed any paperwork. In theory our new trading relationship with the EU should not affect how in practice I buy seeds from Mesa Garden.

Its interesting that the Czech authorities appear to be much more aggressive than other countries. Signs of things to come??

I get my seeds from Mesa Garden also, (and Succseed), the latter I certainly will be wary of using now, Mesa will need emailing to ask (I think) before I place an order.

Procedures for buying material from outside EU will not change. However there has been a requirement for a year or so that seeds should be accompanied by a Phytosanitary Certificate. So you should have bought your $76 Phytosanitary Certificate from Mesa Garden, otherwise Border Force could have incinerated the package if it had been detected.

You mean this one?

I cannot find an in-site link to the PC page and it isn't mentioned directly on this page either.

Is the $76 for every purchase?

“But they stopped because of cheaper competition from Europe.
So IF the European competition has now been eliminated, they can start up again.”
I think that’s wrong. I believe most UK cactus nurseries shut because the owners were getting old and the UK based trade was insufficient to tempt them to keep going.
I don’t think EU nurseries are any cheaper than UK, especially when you’ve paid shipping.
Do I think this will see the resurgence of UK grower? Not in a hurry. The lead times to grow sellable plants are too long for a start-up. It may lead to an increase in micro-nurseries and it could be a great opportunity for local branch sales.
It will be interesting to see whether the plant passport scheme is quietly dropped for UK internet sales, I struggle to see a benefit this brings for internal market sales and dropping it would not be anti-competitive.

I wonder if we will end up with a relationship like Switzerland who are not members of the EEC but tolerated?
