I've given my cuttings a try with different light, Chris.
Do you think this is better?Cr_fragarioides_cuttings_2.JPG

You should have gone to Specsavers, Ralph. It's obviously a piece of cloth, not wallpaper. As to the attractive 'off-black with purple shades' colour, all a question of taste. (Oops, I suspect that leaves me open to more comments. )

I think Ralph referred to your later photograph

Edit: I have tried to send you PM but it's still in the outbox, how's your inbox space looking?

Lots of interesting plants! The only Crassula that I currently have is this one. It grows steadily but has never flowered in the 15 years it's been planted (probably needs more heat than being outside can provide here). Not sure which species it is but I'm guessing a form of C. ovata?

Wow, surprised it can manage snow

Me too Tina! It doesn't seem to mind the cold and wet at all and even shrugged off the big freeze ten or so years ago as well as the Beastie from the East, so seems pretty tough! I got it from a friend in Spain who grew it in his garden between Valencia and Alicante so a vastly different climate. There's a self-seeded Rebutia under the snow next to it, one of many that have appeared over the years in outdoor pots where I've used recycled compost from the greenhouse.

That is quite remarkable.

If you ever feel the need to trim it up a bit - y'know, just by way of being tidy - I'd gladly sent you an SAE for the bits. Save you going all the way to the compost - I'm all heart. Plenty to trade, too.

Drop me a PM with your address Paul and I'll get a couple of cuttings off to you in the spring. They'll feel like they're going on a semi-Mediterranean holiday 🙂
